Cory Wallace, a seasoned activist and leader from IAM Local 778 in Kansas City, MO, has been appointed as an IAM Grand Lodge Auditor. Wallace’s assignment will cover Lodges in Delaware, New Jersey, southeastern New York, and eastern Pennsylvania. The appointment was effective February 1, 2023.
Wallace had served as Secretary-Treasurer of Local 778 since 2014, where he had also held the positions of Shop Steward, Communicator, and Conductor Sentinel. He has assisted in numerous organizing campaigns, including at Praxair, Nestle, Whitman Air Force Base, Lund Boats, Senior Flexonics, Olin Winchester, and Boeing South Carolina. Wallace was also a delegate to the Missouri and Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO Central Labor Councils.
Wallace initiated into Local 778 in 2007 as an Assembler-Adjuster Special Precision at Honeywell FM&T.
“Cory brings energy and experience to our Grand Lodge Auditing Team,” said IAM General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes. “He will be a huge asset to our Districts and Locals because he knows firsthand the important jobs of our IAM financial stewards.”
Wallace is proud to have assisted in numerous fundraising efforts, including for Guide Dogs of America, the Machinists Non-Partisan Political League (MNPL) and as part of the IAM Midwest Territory’s H.E.L.P.S. Program.
“We continue to build a great team of IAM Grand Lodge Auditors to service our lodges throughout the U.S. and Canada,” said Paul Kendall, IAM Assistant Secretary to the General Secretary-Treasurer. “Cory will help us continue to keep our promise to ensure that IAM funds are always used to benefit our membership.”
Wallace served in the U.S. Navy from 1999 to 2003 as an Electronics Mate, where he was tasked with operating and maintaining electrical systems aboard the USS Tarawa, where he served two tours.
Wallace holds an associate’s degree in automotive technology and is a proud second-generation IAM member.
